Kylian Mbappe is not losing any sleep over Lionel Messi's latest goals as the two superstars race to win the European Golden Shoe.
In fact, the Paris Saint-Germain attacker is so confident he joked that he interrupted his nap to watch Messi score a brace in Barcelona's final La Liga match of the season.
Messi currently leads the race for the prize handed to the top goalscorer from all of Europe's top divisions, with French ace Mbappe in second place.
Mbappe is four behind Messi after the Argentine scored both Barcelona's goals in their 2-2 draw against Eibar on Sunday.
However, while Messi's league campaign is over, Mbappe has a game left to overtake his rival, with PSG away to Reims in their final Ligue 1 clash on Friday.
And Mbappe confidently predicted he could fire enough goals past Reims to beat Messi to the Golden Shoe.
Speaking at the Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels awards (the French PFA awards), Mbappe said: "Yes I'm aiming for the golden shoe this year. This afternoon I took a break in my nap to see Messi's match - after his two goals I went back to bed!
"I still have 90 mins, I have nothing to lose!"
Although Messi has scored four more goals than Mbappe, the Golden Shoe's points system based on UEFA coefficients puts the Argentine six points ahead, according to Transfermarkt .
Mbappe dropped a transfer bombshell in front of manager Thomas Tuchel when he suggested at Sunday's French awards that he could leave PSG.
The 20-year-old said: "This is a very important moment for me, I am arriving at maybe the first or second turning point in my career.
"I have learned so much here, and I feel it's maybe the time to have more responsibility.
"Maybe at PSG, that would give me great pleasure, or maybe elsewhere for a new project."Real Madrid are known admirers of the 20-year-old, who won the Ligue 1 player of the year award following a stellar season in which he has scored 38 goals in 42 games.
