Defense Forces Begin 31st Rota

The 31st rotation of the Hungarian Defence Forces’ (MH) KFOR Contingent has commenced its six-month service with the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR), reports honvedelem.hu.

The handover ceremony took place on September 28 at the Novo Selo camp, chaired by KFOR Commander Major General Özkan Ulutaş. Among the attendees were Béla Bozsik, Ambassador of Hungary to Kosovo.

Lieutenant Colonel Dávid Szent-Imrey, Commander of the 30th rotation of the MH KFOR contingent, handed over command of the Hungarian contingent to Lieutenant Colonel Tibor Dancs.

Major General Özkan Ulutaş thanked Lieutenant Colonel Szent-Imrey for his excellent leadership and service, welcomed Lieutenant Colonel Dancs, and wished him success in his upcoming service.

According to an earlier article published on Hungary Today, the Hungarian Defense Forces’ continued participation in KFOR has been essential in enhancing Hungary’s military reputation. Hungarian soldiers have consistently contributed to maintaining security and stability in Kosovo, with their professionalism receiving international recognition.

Hungarian peacekeepers have been serving in the Western Balkans since 1995 and have participated in KFOR since 1999. Currently, Hungary’s KFOR contribution consists of two maneuver squadrons, reconnaissance units, and troops deployed for command, logistics, and support tasks.
