The Dreher Beer Museum, home to one of Hungary’s largest and richest beer collections, is celebrating its 45th anniversary with a new renovated beer history time-travel film about the adventures of Anton Dreher and discounted guided tours. The museum is also organizing a cultural marketing study project in cooperation with the Budapest Metropolitan University, writes Turizmus.com.

The Dreher Breweries will debut a limited-edition board game, specially created for the occasion. In a special edition, participants will be able to follow the life story of the legendary brewery master, Anton Dreher (Dreher Antal in Hungarian), as a young man. Players must travel with him through some of Europe’s finest breweries to ‘master the craft of brewing.’ The board game also features iconic objects from the Dreher Beer Museum, and it will be available exclusively at the beer museum while stocks last.

During the guided tour of the museum, participants can learn more about the history of the Dreher Breweries and the museum’s exhibits.

In September, anyone interested can buy a half-price ticket for a guided tour of the museum, featuring a unique collection of beer industry exhibits. Those interested can register for the guided tours in September here, subject to availability.

The beer museum’s priority is to expand and protect its exhibits. In cooperation with experts, they are constantly renovating old beer relics. Most recently, the old brewing and fermentation equipment on display in the factory area has been restored to its former glory.

The statistics show clearly that the pre-pandemic attendance rate is now back in Hungarian museums, with the Dreher Beer Museum welcoming hundreds of visitors every month. “We think it is important to build Kőbánya (10th district), once known as the citadel of beer, as a tourist destination for young adults. The unique industrial heritage of the district, the historical past of the beer industry and the Dreher Beer Museum together form a unique package of experiences that are worth getting to know and discovering, even through the experience of visiting the museum,” emphasized Ibolya Szabó, Director of Corporate Relations at Dreher Breweries, adding that “to this end, a joint project was created by Dreher Breweries and Budapest Metropolitan University.

The participants of the program, starting in the autumn semester, will take part in a targeted research and the development of a communication plan aimed specifically at raising the interest of Generation Z in Hungarian beer history and the museum.

The team at the Dreher Beer Museum has created a special video using artificial intelligence to take the viewer on a historical journey through time to show how the design of beer steins has changed from the 1800s to the present day.

The Dreher Beer Museum is Hungary’s unique and special museum collection exploring and collecting the history of the beer industry. Located in Kőbánya, the institution covers all the historical material those interested need to know about the history of beer and the Dreher Breweries. Special in the country and internationally, the collection and exhibition was opened in 1979, on the 125th anniversary of the brewery’s foundation, and was renovated in 2019-2020 to celebrate the museum’s 40th anniversary. The artifacts on display are historical relics of the brewing industry: objects of industrial history, technical and production equipment, guild relics, models, flags and marbles, written and printed documents, posters, plans, photographs, film clips and advertising material.
