Four Venues across the Country Await Visitors on the Night of Chairlifts

The Mátra, Bükk, Zemplén (all in northern Hungary) and Buda Mountains will also welcome visitors to the Night of Chairlifts on Saturday July 13.
The Chernel István Ski and Tourism Cluster is coordinating the Night of Chairlifts for the ninth time, writes the organization’s website. BKV (public transport operator in Budapest) is also joining the event with the Zugliget Chairlift.
The Zugliget Chairlift awaits hikers again after a long technical renovation. Hungary’s first passenger transport ropeway is 1,040 meters long and the difference in elevation between its two stations is 262 meters.
It takes you up to János Hill, the highest peak of the capital, while the trip towards the valley station offers a unique view of Budapest.

From 5 p.m. on July 13 until 1 a.m., you can take the chairlift to János Hill.
The thrill of the night ride and the illuminated view of the capital promises to be an unforgettable experience,”
the BKV’s statement said.
The event can be visited with a HUF 5,000 (EUR 13) return ticket for the occasion. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Millenium Underground Museum for cash only. Children and student tickets are not available for the event, travel is free for children under 3 years of age. Further information on ticketing is available on the BKV website.
On the Night of Chairlifts, the Oxygen Adrenalin Park in Sástó (Mátra Mountains) will be open as usual from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., while chairlifts will operate from 9 a.m. to midnight, with extended opening hours.

The Lillafüred Libegőpark (Chairlift Park) in the Bükk Mountains will be open from 10 a.m to 10 p.m. during the event. Activities include crafts, face painting, a tombola, a photo corner and a quiz game.
In Sátoraljaújhely, the Zemplén Adventure Park will also welcome visitors to the Night of Chairlifts, with a detailed program to be published soon.
