Based on the data received so far, the national average precipitation for the month was 82.8 millimeters, 15 percent higher than the average of 71.8 millimeters recorded between 1991 and 2020. Precipitation, generally made up of showers and thunderstorms, showed high spatial variability in monthly rainfall totals. In the driest places, monthly precipitation remained around 30 millimeters, while in the wettest areas, such as the Bükk and Zemplén (North Hungarian Mountains) mountains, it exceeded 150 millimeters in several places in June.

The average temperature for the first six months of the year was 11.9°C, 2.9°C above the average for the years 1991-2020, making it the warmest first half of the year since the beginning of the 20th century. This high was mainly due to February being 7°C milder than average, they said.
