Nostalgia Trams to Return to the Capital

Nostalgia trams are returning to the capital, hence those interested will be able to see vintage vehicles on the roads and tracks in Budapest during the spring-summer period.
On Saturday, the N2 nostalgia tram ran between Közvágóhíd (District 9) and Jászai Mari square (District 5). On May 12, those interested can take the N18 between Csóka utca (District 11) and Szent János Hospital (District 12). This service will run once a month, the Center for Budapest Transport (BKK) announced on Friday.
On May 26, a nostalgia tram will also run to Hűvösvölgy (District 2) from Széll Kálmán Square (District 12) on the N56 line, connecting to the Children’s Railway. On May 11, the N109 nostalgia bus service will run as a circular service across Margaret Bridge and Elisabeth Bridge, with an open Cabrio Ikarus in good weather, and on May 18, a special trolleybus service will run between Astoria (on the border of District 5,7, and 8) and Csáktornya Park (District 14) on the N74 line.
Retro buses will also run in May in connection with BKV events, and their timetable and other events will be available on bkk.hu.

The nostalgia trams can be used with nostalgia line or day tickets, which can be purchased in advance at BKK customer centers and ticket offices, as well as from the staff of the nostalgia trams, and the most popular full-price adult nostalgia ticket can be purchased in the BudapestGO app.

The nostalgia services have a special pricing. A nostalgia line ticket is valid for one journey, while a day ticket allows you to travel on all nostalgia trains running on that day. Nostalgia tickets are free of charge for children up to 14 years of age, but schoolchildren will be asked to show a Hungarian student ID card.
- Nostalgia line ticket: HUF 500 (EUR 1.28)
- Nostalgia day ticket: HUF 2,000 (EUR 5.13)
Tickets are validated by the conductor. At the terminus, passengers can also ring the tram bell.
