Spectacular Anti-tank Exercise Held by the Defense Forces

The Hungarian Defense Forces are capable of creating and defending peace,” the Defense Minister stressed on Monday at the Nullpont Shooting and Training Range in Hajmáskér, Veszprém County (western Hungary), before an anti-tank demonstration exercise.
Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovinczky added that unprecedented social, political and financial support was available to the Hungarian Defense Forces to carry out the tasks assigned to them in previous years.

the Minister underlined.
He said that there is much talk that modern warfare is all about drones, that “the battlefield has changed,” but that is not the case, he noted, because the most formidable weapon remains the tank, and defeating tanks remains “a priority for any force that wants to be a serious deterrent.”

General Gábor Böröndi, Chief of the Hungarian Defense Staff, highlighted that the Hungarian Defense Forces demonstrate
the harmonization of new equipment and old anti-tank equipment, based on the lessons learned from the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The development of the anti-tank capability is the first step, the second step is when the unmanned devices are used not only for target detection but also for the destruction of armored targets. The third step is to demonstrate the protection against unmanned assets and the fourth step is the harmonization of activities, he emphasized.

Every defense force, including the Hungarian one, must have an anti-tank capability able to destroy tanks from as far away as possible in order to keep the line of defense intact, he added.

The General stressed that the Hungarian Defense Forces are demonstrating how they have managed to practice the use of the equipment acquired in the course of the force development program, while at the same time reassuring the Hungarian people and proving that they are safe.
