The Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias also participated in the meeting, while on the American side, Senators Jerry Moran, Susan Collins, John Boozman, John Cornyn, John Hoeven and the US ambassador in Athens, George Tsunis, took part.

According to information, during the meeting the excellent level of Greek-American relations and Greek-American defense cooperation was discussed, as well as the role of Greece as a pillar of stability and security in the wider region.

The Prime Minister emphasized the initiatives undertaken by Greece and its role in the development of the Vertical Energy Corridor and in Europe's energy security.

They also exchanged views on international and regional issues, with an emphasis on the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.
