“Parcel lockers remain highly popular, and this season we added over 100 new lockers to meet customer demand. We’re committed to ensuring parcels reach their intended pickup points promptly.”
Christmas cards continue to hold a cherished place in Finnish traditions.
“Christmas cards are a meaningful part of the season, and it’s fantastic to see so many people keeping this tradition alive,” said Sami Määttä, responsible for Posti’s consumer letter services. “It’s heartening to witness the joy that a traditional card brings during the holidays.”
While most deliveries have been on time, greetings requiring address clarification or submitted after the final mailing deadlines will likely reach recipients by the New Year.
Jarmo Ainasoja, Posti’s Head of Christmas, expressed gratitude for the collective effort behind the season’s success. “Delivering Christmas mail is an honour for us. Around 17,000 Posti employees in Finland and abroad have worked hard to ensure a smooth season. A heartfelt thanks to our customers and Posti’s team for making this possible. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.”
Posti also continued its sustainability efforts during the peak season. Deliveries were increasingly powered by a growing fossil-free fleet, which includes approximately 500 electric vehicles, 100 biogas cars, and nearly 2,000 light electric vehicles.
Posti has committed to operating fossil-free by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. Currently, nearly half of Finnish households receive day mail delivery powered by electricity, with coverage exceeding 90% in the capital region.
