Fly tippers in Ayios Epiktitos and Ayios Amvrosios were fined and then made to collect the rubbish they had fly tipped by village police.
The villages’ Turkish Cypriot mayor Ceyhun Kirok shared the news to his social media, offering his congratulations to the village police who had got the fly tippers to collect their own rubbish.
“It was determined who had dumped the rubbish on the side of the road, and both of them were fined and cleaned it up,” he said.
He added, “despite all these warnings and fines, [fly tipping] continues relentlessly, but our stance on the matter is clear.”
