Three people were arrested after trying to escape police detention through a window, police said on Tuesday.

The incident unfolded over the weekend in Nicosia.

Three individuals, two aged 22 and one 24, sought to escape from their holding cell by digging around the window.

Officers however spotted them and re-arrested them.

They now also face charges of attempting to escape.
