Police in Paphos reported the arrested on Tuesday of three persons for conspiracy to commit a felony against perpetrators of a car theft.
According to the report, a 52-year-old man told police that shortly before 8pm on Wednesday, he and his minor son had been visited by three unknown persons at home.
The men demanded for the minor to show them the houses of three other minors who, along with him, had been involved in a case of car theft committed last week.
It appears that the driver of the car allegedly threatened the 52-year-old and his son to get into his vehicle and show him the homes of the other three perpetrators of the theft, while allegedly threatening they would come to harm if they informed the police.
After the father and son entered the car, they were taken to different parts of the city, during which the driver allegedly issued further threats, and also demanded a sum of €10,000. He then dropped them off home and left.
The case resulted in testimony against three persons aged 23, 29 and 48, who were arrested on warrants and taken into custody.
The four minors had been arrested and released last week for the theft, and the case was to be brought before the Attorney General for further handling.
Paphos CID is furthering the investigation.
