The Bulgarian Food Bank’s Kilogram of Kindness food drive, is collecting food for the needy for the 12th consecutive time.
Four to seven tons of food with a longer shelf lifeis expected to be collected – such as rice, lentils, macaroni, vegetable oil etc. Over the weekend, more than 190 volunteers in front of six big food chain stores in the country will collect packaged food the customers have bought. The volunteers are giving 4 hours of their free time to help the needy. The campaign allows every individual to demonstrate empathy for a stranger, and big companies and food retailers to donate food instead of throwing it away.
