The regional organization of Jews in Bulgaria "Shalom" for the city of Varna has collected over BGN 3,000 at a charity auction of paintings by famous artists to help the residents of the village of Voden, Yambol region, reported BNR correspondent in Varna Daniela Stoynova.
In July, the village suffered a major wildfire that destroyed 30 houses and caused extensive damage.

Oleg Calderon, chairman of the regional Jewish association Shalom, said the funds will be taken personally to the people there who are still suffering.
Since the fire, they have been living in vans, some of them in terrible condition.
