More than 250 types of wine participate in this year's 12th Festival of Wine and Cultural Heritage Avgustiada in Stara Zagora. It opens tonight at 5:30 p.m. with a parade of the contenders for Queen Avgustiada, folklore groups and the association for antique re-enactments "Via Pretoria", Oleg Stoilov, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, co-organizer of the event, told BNR. The festival will be accompanied by a rich cultural program with the participation of the Stara Zagora State Opera, jazz formations from the city and Bulgaria and other ensembles.

This year, a special focus of the festival that will last until September 29, is Serbia and Serbian wines. A conference dedicated to wine making and tourism is also being held in the Regional History Museum.
