From May 9, temporary anti-epidemic measures against the spread of pertussis are being introduced in Bulgaria. According to the health minister's order, they will operate until the end of July and include free diagnostics of people who have clinical symptoms of the disease, with PCR tests in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Pleven and Stara Zagora. According to data from the Ministry of Health, as of May 5, there were 793 people with whooping cough.
Anti-epidemic measures provide for the isolation and treatment of a person with whooping cough to continue until they recover, but not more than 30 days.
As of today, immunization is organized for pregnant women, who wish to be vaccinated.
