Bulgarian delegation to the NATO Leaders Meeting in London on
December 3 and 4, the President's Press Secretariat reported.
The delegation also comprises Defence Minister Krassimir

years in the fair distribution of burdens, NATO's deterrence and
defence potential, the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan
and Iraq, relations with Russia, arms control and the role of
China.

During their visit to the UK capital, President Radev and his
wife Dessislava Radeva will attend a reception for the NATO
leaders and their spouses to be hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.

Radev will talk with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US
President Donald Trump within multilateral formats. He will hold
 separate meetings with other officials.

EP Committee on Petitions closes petition for changes to Struma motorway project

The European Parliament's Committee on Petitions has closed the petition by civic associations from Bulgaria for changes to the Struma motorway project.

It is now up to the European Commission to decide whether the environmental standards in the passage of the motorway through Kresna Gorge have been observed. Brussels has sent a letter to Sofia raising the question of preserving biodiversity in the process of construction, and is expecting an answer by 15 January, 2020.

MEP Andrey Novakov called on the EU, before it makes its decision whether to co-finance the last section of the motorway, to take into account the fact that 235 people have lost their lives in the gorge in the past 9 years. That means 27 people a year, or 2 every month.
