Galway motorist lucky to escape without injuries following M6 collision in snow
A Galway motorist was lucky to escape without any injuries after a collision on the M6 during this week's heavy snow.
Gardaí warned motorists to be prepared if they were going to set out on a journey, highlighting one motorist who had a collision in Galway while the county was under an Orange Weather Warning.
Fortunately, the motorist escaped without any injuries following the collision, which occurred near to the toll plaza at Cappataggle.

A Garda spokesperson wrote: “Luckily there were no injuries at this incident on the M6 near the toll plaza at Cappataggle, Co. Galway, but collisions can very easily happen in the temperatures we're experiencing this week.
“Please be prepared if you must take a journey by vehicle.”
officers in Wicklow were forced to issue fines earlier this week
Previously, Gardaí warned that officers in Wicklow were forced to issue fines to the drivers of 15 cars like the one pictured above, who had been parked on the narrow roads around the Sally Gap taking pictures of the snow.
A Garda spokesperson warned: “We understand that people want to take in the snowy scenery but please help us out and be responsible.”
