Recall issued over kid's item sold in Ireland over fears 'child could be strangled'
An urgent recall has been issued for a children's item sold in the Republic of Ireland over safety fears.
Ireland's Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) issued a public notice on Tuesday warning that a safety issue was identified with the Pikler with climbing board and slide sold by popular toy company Learning World.
According to the CCPC, the product - a wooden toy which children can climb up and down - has been found to have an opening between the bars that is wider than required. The risk presented by this is strangulation caused by entrapment of the head / neck area.

"A child can fall through the gap, the head and neck area then becomes entrapped, and the child could be strangled as a result," the recall notice stated.
The type/number of model being recalled is JR-029. The barcode is 0781005737510, while the batch number is 0023-01. The brand is unknown.
The CCPC said that there are approximately nine affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
Customers are being urged to stop using the product immediately. Once Learning World receive a copy of the proof of purchase and confirmation that the product has been disposed of, they will issue a full refund.
