New Dublin City half marathon officially launched - here's how to enter

The new Dublin city half marathon has officially been launched by Dublin City Council.

Entries are now open for the 13.1-mile race, which will take place on Sunday March 30, 2025. The race will begin on O'Connell Street and see participants run through the north of Dublin city before finishing back in the city centre.

The new addition to the 2025 race calendar has been organised by the same team that arranges the Irish Life Dublin Marathon and Race Series. Dublin City Council is an official partner of the event.

The theme for this year's race is Run Together - Thrive Together, and participants of all abilities are welcome to take part.

Speaking at today’s launch event, the Lord Mayor of Dublin Emma Blain said: "This event is the perfect opportunity to set one of your New Year's Resolutions! I look forward to supporting the runners as they take on the half marathon challenge in our fantastic city and showing my support for their incredible efforts."

Entries are now open on the event website here. The entry fee is €68, which includes a finisher's T-shirt, a medal, and the postage of race numbers.

Jim Aughney, the Race Director of the Dublin City Half Marathon, said: "We look forward to bringing a top-notch event to the streets of Dublin and are excited to partner with Dublin City Council to make this Spring Half Marathon event a reality."

The race is subject to statutory agency approval.
