Shane Lowry creates history as he eyes up massive prize money following TGL debut
Shane Lowry created a little slice of history after becoming the first player to tee off in the TGL Golf League and is eyeing up a massive payday.
The league, which is backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, launched last night at the state-of-the-art So-Fi Centre in Florida, with Lowry officially kicking off festivities.
The TGL League boasts the world's largest golf simulator, where players hit out of real bunkers and put on a green that can change its contours.

In addition to making history, Lowry hopes to earn one of the biggest paydays of his career with a hefty $21m prize pot available for the league.
In total, six teams are competing for the So-Fi Cup, with Lowry teamed up alongside Wyndham Clark, Ludvig Aberg, and Min Woo Lee.
Yesterday's debut saw Lowry's The Bay Golf Club take on New York Golf Club in a 15-hole match. The first nine holes are a 3v3 alternate shot while the last six holes are played for singles.
Lowry's Bay Golf Club would go on to win the match 9-2 in a stunning debut win. As part of the league they accrued two points and now top the table.
The full prize breakdown has not yet been revealed but what is known is that the league-winning team will nab a cool $9m split four ways equating to $2.25m (€2.18m).
The league takes place every week from now until March 5th while the semi-finals and final run throughout March.
Tiger Woods will make his debut next week while Rory McIlroy will tee it up on January 28th.
