Are Bus Eireann, Irish Rail, Dublin Bus and Luas running today? Travel updates amid snow chaos
Ireland's ongoing cold snap has wrecked havoc on the nation's transport networks, with disruptions reported across a number of services.
Heavy snowfall hit parts of Munster and south Leinster on Sunday, with public transport services reporting delays, cancellations and limited services.
The freezing weather is set to persist throughout the week, with additional wintry showers expected and temperatures plunging as low as -8C.
Met Eireann currently has two weather warnings in place. A nationwide Status Yellow alert for snow and ice is in effect from noon today until noon tomorrow. It reads: "Wintry showers will bring further accumulation of snow. Potential impacts include hazardous travelling conditions, poor visibility and travel disruption."

Another nationwide Status Yellow warning for low temperatures and ice remains in place until midnight on Friday. It states: "Very cold nights with widespread frost, ice and lying snow. Temperatures struggling to get above freezing during the day. Potential impacts include hazardous travelling conditions on roads and underfoot and travel disruption."
As travel disruption is anticipated for the rest of the week, commuters may be seeking updates on public transport services. Below is the latest information from Bus Eireann, Irish Rail, Dublin Bus and Luas.
Bus Eireann
Bus Eireann has advised passengers to check the 'Service Updates' section on its website before travelling.
A spokesperson said: "Bus Éireann would like to advise all intending passengers to check the ‘Service Updates’ section of our website before travelling as there is the potential for disruption to services due to adverse weather conditions. Bus Éireann will continue to monitor weather advisories as well as road conditions in the coming days and any service disruptions will be posted on our website.
"The safety of our passengers and staff is of paramount importance to Bus Éireann and we would encourage all customers to plan their journeys in advance, allowing extra time for their journey, during this period of adverse weather."
Irish Rail
Irish Rail expects most routes to operate as scheduled, with some exceptions and potential delays due to snow and ice.
A spokesperson said: "Iarnród Éireann has advised customers that it expects all routes except one to operate Monday morning, but to be aware of the possibility of delays in areas affected by the current snow/ice weather event. The company expects rail services to operate on all routes across the network with one exception: the Nenagh branch line (Limerick to Ballybrophy via Nenagh) will not operate on Monday morning, due to weather conditions - replacement bus services will not be possible due to road conditions. The situation will be reviewed in mid-morning for this route.
"Customers on routes in all affected areas are advised that there may be some delays dependent on weather. Railway infrastructure teams will continue to work across key rail routes in the early hours of Monday morning to ensure any issues are identified and resolved prior to first trains. Service information will be updated on www.irishrail.ie and on twitter/X @irishrail with the latest service updates.
"Separately, Dublin area customers are reminded that the line between Connolly and Grand Canal Dock will reopen from first train tomorrow morning following track renewal works between Connolly and Pearse, which have been taking place since St Stephen's Day."
Dublin Bus
Dublin Bus has suspended services to Glencullen due to severe weather conditions.
A spokesperson said: "The following diversions are in place until further notice:
Route 44b Toward Dundrum Luas: Departs from the Blue Church before returning to the normal route. Toward Glencullen: Terminates at the Blue Church; unable to serve Glencullen."
Luas
Both Red Line and Green Line Luas services are currently operating as normal.
