'You will be missed': Tributes paid to 'lovely lady', 75, killed in Kilkenny crash
Tributes have been paid to an elderly woman who was killed in two-car collision in Co Kilkenny.
The crash happened on the N25 at Luffany at around 5.50pm on Friday (January 3).
The woman, who was driving one of the cars, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. She has been named locally as Mary Grennan (75) Ballycurran, Tullogher, Co. Kilkenny.

Her body was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination took place.
Mrs Grennan who was originally from Glenmore in South Kilkenny was described as 'an absolute lady' and was known to many due to her work in the Eye Department at Waterford University Hospital in Ardkeen.
Paying tribute, local councillor Fidelis Doherty (FG) “It is with great sadness that we hear the news of a lovely lady who passed away following an accident on the N25 yesterday evening. Sympathy to her family, her husband and children, her many family members, and the community in Tullogher, and may she rest in peace. It is a great sadness for all of us, and for the family in particular.”
Tullogher Camogie Club, with whom Mary's family were members, also paid tribute. They said ‘’We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Mary Grennan yesterday evening. Mary's daughter Bridget has been an integral part of our club, both as a player and more recently as a trainer, her son Declan has been involved in coaching our juveniles and Mary's Grandchildren are active members of the club.
"We are thinking of Bridget, Declan and the entire Grennan and Kirwan families at this terribly sad time’’.
Another friend said: ‘’Mary's untimely passing is a huge shock. Friends for nearly 50 years I have fond memories of our days in the Eye Dept in Ardkeen. Rest in Peace Mary you will be missed’’
Mary is survived by her husband Paddy, children John, Bridget, James, Declan and Patrick. Her remains will repose in Doyle's Funeral Home The Old Rectory, Rosbercon, New Ross from 3pm on Tuesday, January 7, concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral to arrive at St. David's Church Listerlin for 12pm Requiem Mass on Wednesday, January 8, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.
The other driver, a man in his 30s, and a female passenger in her 20s were taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardaí are appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the N25 between Luffany Roundabout, Slieverue and Glenmore between the hours of 5.30pm and 6.15pm to make this footage available to them.
