Electricity bills +18.2% for vulnerable Q1 2025

Electrical power bills in Italy will
rise 18.2% for the vulnerable in the first quarter of 2025,
gried operator ARERA said Friday.

The rise will come for the 'typical customer' served in 'greater
safeguard'.

The increase concerns approximately 3.4 million customers who
remained in the greater protection service: these are citizens
over 75, recipients of social bonus, disabled people, residents
in emergency housing modules or on smaller islands, users of
life-saving equipment.

Despite the increases, the annual expenditure for the typical
vulnerable user under the Greater Protection regime will stand
at 523 euros in the period between 1 April 2024 and 31 March
2025, a value 2.1% lower than the 534 euros recorded in the
previous period (1 April 2023 - 31 March 2024).
