Ireland winger on reason behind goal drought as he celebrates return to scoring with a double
Mikey Johnston celebrated on the double on Sunday for West Brom as he emphatically ended his goal-drought - and then pointed to the reason behind his struggles in front of the net.
Johnston’s first-half brace helped the Baggies to a 2-0 win over Bristol City, a result that moved them up to seventh in the Championship table.
It was just his eighth league start this season since his move from Celtic at the end of the transfer window - and he has featured in just over a third of the available minutes in the league to date.

Johnston has also appeared 10 times from the bench. And he believes that lack of regular game-time has stunted his progress.
His second goal was similar to what West Brom fans saw last season during his successful loan spell from Celtic - a right-foot curler that became a trademark of his during that time.
Johnston said: “I do that every day in training and this time it's come off. But I've been in and out a bit this season and finding a bit of rhythm can be tough.
“We've got a lot of games coming up but that's a good start and it's nice to be back on the scoresheet.”
Johnston also believes that, while he marked Sunday’s display with a brace, he has performed better this season with West Brom.
“I've been working hard to get the rewards and finally it happened,” he said. “But I've had better games and not scored, but gone close.
“That's football sometimes. One goes in and then you get another - it's only the second I've scored with my head though.”
