Two hospitalised, one in danger of dying, after Naxxar crash

Two people have been hospitalised with one of them being in danger of dying after a traffic crash in Naxxar on Sunday.

Police said that the accident happened at around 9:30am in Triq is-Salini in Naxxar.

Preliminary investigations showed that the accident involved three motorcycles: an Aprilia ridden by a 31-year-old man from Qormi, a Honda ridden by a 40-year-old man from Mqabba, and a Yamaha ridden by a 29-year-old man from St Paul’s Bay.

A Mercedes driven by a 27-year-old woman was also involved in the accident, the police said.

The 31-year-old and the 40-year-old were given medical assistance on site and were then taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.  The former was certified as suffering from light injuries while the latter’s injuries were certified as serious.

Magistrate Joe Mifsud is leading an inquiry while police investigations are also ongoing.
