Champion jockey Oisin Murphy to fulfill jump racing dream on St Stephen's Day
Oisin Murphy is set to fulfill his dream of riding over jumps after being booked for a ride on St Stephen's Day at Wincanton.
The Kerryman is a four-time champion jockey on the flat but has long held an ambition to try his hand over obstacles.
The 29-year-old has been booked to ride the Neil Mulholland-trained Ike Sport in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle at 2.28 on Thursday.

It will be a first ride in a little over two weeks for Murphy who was last in action on the all-weather at Kempton.
Murphy had been scheduled to ride over jumps Cian Collins at Wincanton last December but the meeting was called off due to bad weather.
Speaking at the time, Murphy said he was well used to riding over jumps, having worked with the Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning jockey Jim Culloty, who is his uncle.
The jockey said: “I worked with [Jim] in my teens, so jump racing has always been part of my life and it has always been a burning ambition of mine to ride in a jumps race."
