Conor McGregor's eldest son has been awarded the third stripe on his Jiu-Jitsu white belt as he continues his MMA journey.

The MMA star and his fiancee Dee Devlin both took to social media to congratulate the seven-year-old. Conor Jr is now just two steps away from getting the next belt on his waist.

McGregor wrote on Instagram: "My son with another stripe on his Jiu Jitsu belt! He is so happy and it makes me incredibly proud to see his efforts! Well done my Champion! Thank you @sbgireland and coach @sbgnerijus! Let’s go @conormcgregorjr." Dee added: “So so proud!!!”

"I look forward to the day when I can show him this," McGregor said of his son back in 2017. "I want to show him my career, the crazy things I've done in my life, the crazy journey I've been on and then mostly show him what hard work can achieve. I can show him that if you work hard you can achieve great things.

"He's come into a life of financial freedom, right? His financial freedom is secure, so I don't want him to come in and have a privileged mindset. I want to implement what it took to get this life and really instil hard work and focus and dedication into his mindset so he goes and achieves his own greatness. That's something that is in my thoughts always."
