Education ministry approves school air-conditioning funding

The second wave of air-conditioning for schools has been approved by the education ministry, as well as the landscaping of two adjoining schools, with a budget of €1.5 million, chairwoman of the Paphos school board Annie Yiannikou said on Friday.

Yiannikou said the school board had applied for funding to landscape the Kykkos lyceum and Nicolaideion gymnasium and placed tenders in early 2025, after the project gains approval.

She said air-conditioning had been installed in the first ten schools of Paphos and the next ten had been chosen.

Furthermore, works at other schools are progressing and in early January security cameras and safety membranes on windows would be installed in others.
