RTE pundit Richie Sadlier and wife Fiona expecting second child


Richie Sadlier is expecting his second child with wife Fiona.



Richie and Fiona have been open and honest about their struggles to become parents over the years and were thrilled to welcome son Sam in February 2023.



Now, the couple have another "miracle" on the way and will become parents for a second time in summer 2025.

Posting an adorable photo of Sam looking at a scan photo hung on their Christmas tree, RTE star Richie told his Instagram followers: "Some lovely news… We’ve got another little miracle on the way.



"All going well, Sam will become a big brother towards the end of May. Hard to believe that after everything we’ve been through, we’re on the verge of being a family of four.



"As ever, big hugs to anyone going through challenges of any kind in this area."

It wasn't long before the football pundit was inundated with well wishes from his friends and followers.



"You guys!!!!!!!! So so happy for you all," gushed Lucy Kennedy.



"Aww how amazing! Huge congratulations," said Rosanna Davison.



"OMG! Congratulations to you & Fiona...& Sam of course too," added Nuala Carey well fellow footballer turned pundit Aine O'Gorman wrote: "Amazing news, congratulations".



Richie, who also works as a psychotherapist, previously revealed how he and Fiona sadly went through multiple unsuccessful rounds of IVF before naturally falling pregnant with Sam.



He candidly opened up about his journey to fatherhood during an interview on the Tommy Tiernan Show, reflecting on how special Sam's birth was.



Richie said: "He was born on a Friday. I'm only recently at the stage where I can say 'my son' without crying. Every time I talk about it or think about it in depth, I get like this.



"But when he came out, just all that other... all that other sh**e we'd gone through, it was just like...not that it didn’t hurt, but none of that matters now. We are the luckiest people ever."
