Teacher stabbed in 'bloodbath' primary school attack as students 'in tears' and 'under siege'

A primary school has been turned into a bloodbath after a "minor student" launched a horrifying attack, stabbing a teacher and wounding several others. Emergency services descended on the school in Zagreb, Croatia, with an ambulance and helicopter urgently attending the scene; the chopper landed directly on the playground.

Terrified children were hurried out of the building as the school went into lockdown, described by local media as "under siege". Some students are reportedly still stuck on site as confusion reigns.

Witnesses are said to be deeply distressed, with Dnevnik. hr commenting today that many are "in shock" and some have been seen "in tears" as they anxiously await pickup by their parents.

Details of the assault are still emerging, though police are maintaining silence on the matter so far. Nonetheless, reports indicate a significant emergency response, including "at least six ambulances" at the school.

Finally, Dnevnik. hr notes that the harrowing incident occurred right at the close of the first semester, tragically just days before Christmas, reports the Mirror.
