Former Irish tour player rolls back the years with hole-in-one at 83 years old
Former Irish tour player Liam Higgins showed class is permanent as the 83-year-old made a hole-in-one at Waterville Golf Links last week.
Higgins rolled back in the years in the company of his son David, who is a top-class golfer himself.
Posting a picture of his father on the hole, David said: "Still knocking them in at 83…This week, Liam had a hole-in-one on the 210-yard 17th hole at Waterville Golf Links. Mulcahy’s Peak.

"Liam said that back in the day he would easily have got there with an 8. With a few years on the clock, he felt it was better to go down the shaft on a 6 for this one!"
Liam played on the European Tour for several years and won the 1977 Kerrygold International, held at his home course in Waterville.
He would later have a lot of success on the Senior Tour, winning three times, with his last victory coming in 1995.
His golfing talent passed onto his son David, who continues to be one of the leading players on the Irish Professionals circuit.
David, like his father, has won the Irish PGA Championship. The 52-year-old won the championship for a third time last year, triumphing at Carne Golf Links.
Higgins was the leading amateur in Ireland when he decided to turn professional in 1994, having beat Padraig Harrington in the final of both the South of Ireland and the Irish Amateur Close championships.
