Heartbroken relatives of missing Kyran Durnin say: 'He used to come to our house - it stopped overnight'
Heartbroken relatives of Kyran Durnin have not set eyes on him in years.
When they asked where he was or how he was they were told he was away with other named people.
One member of his extended family said: ”He used to come regularly to our house and then it stopped overnight. Any time we questioned where he was we were given all sorts of excuses, that he was doing fine and that he was away with other relatives.

“This has been going on for two years or more and everyone in the extended family was worried about him”.
A woman who is the main suspect in the case regularly stayed at the house in Drogheda that Gardaí were searching for the last 48 hours in the hope of finding the missing child's body. So far they have found no human remains.
Neighbours said the woman who was arrested and released without charge earlier this week had been coming and going to the property over the last three years.
They only saw Kyran with her once over two years ago but she would regularly have her other two children with her. She is believed to have been living there up until Kyran was reported missing in late August last.
The woman was in a on-off relationship with the man living in the house who is in his late thirties. It is understood that he dumped her in the last few months and wants nothing to do with her.

The Commissioner stated:” We are learning more on the suspects and working towards bringing a case to the Director of Public Prosecutions .
“I do not think of Kyran as an eight year old but as a boy who died at the age of six and that is where the investigation is focussed, on the period of May, 2022. We are trying to find out what happened to Kyran after the last confirmed sighting and how we can progress from there.”
He also said they were making every effort to establish how the child’s body was disposed of. The Garda chief also said the purpose of the arrests and searches was to find any evidence that will provide them with information on Kyran’s whereabouts or what happened to him.
He was speaking at the passing out parade of new Garda recruits on Templemore College, Co Tipperary.
