New M5S vote Dec 5-8

A fresh vote on changes to the 5-Star
Movement's (M5S) charter will take place on December 5-8 after
founder and comic Beppe Grillo called for a re-vote after he was
stripped of his role as the populist party's 'guarantor' in the
first vote, M5S sources said Tuesday.

As well as Grillo's role, which leader and two-time ex premier
Giuseppe Conte is seeking to demolish, the 'constituent
assembly' will also vote again on scrapping the movement's
two-term limit, changing its symbol, and Conte's desire to place
it firmly in the progressive camp.

In ending Grillo's guarantor role the first vote also deprived
him of a 300,000 euro a year pay check.

Grillo's supporters, including former transport minister Danilo
Toninelli, are appealing to M5S members to think again.
