Lisa McHugh shares her relief as baby daughter returns home from hospital after "heartbreaking" ordeal

Country singer Lisa McHugh has shared the relief felt by her family after her baby daughter Hallie returned home following a ten-day hospital stay.

The tot had been battling RSV and bronchiolitis, a period her mother described as "tough" and "heartbreaking", reports RSVP Live.

With Hallie now on the mend, Lisa, who also has a son named Milo with her husband Nathan, is putting her family at the heart of her plans for the near future.

Taking to social media, Lisa opened up about the ordeal that began when Hallie was admitted to the hospital on November 17. She expressed her long-standing fears as a new mum, saying: "When I became a first-time mum I always had a fear of RSV and Bronchiolitis."

She also discussed the challenges of navigating parenthood and external perceptions: "I was very conscious of the environment Milo was ever in or around, but also as a first-time mum, you sometimes can't help but have the feeling that you're overreacting or being over paranoid whether you just battle that internal voice or you're made to feel that way by others."

Lisa went on to explain her protective instincts, saying: "I know I chose to avoid situations as much as I could that I wasn't comfortable having Milo around, instead of just being upfront and saying the real reason! I don't want to have my child around people who 'just have a sniffle or head cold' or who are 'over the worst of it' because it definitely won't be that way for a baby."

The Fermanagh resident told of the "heartbreaking" experience of watching her young daughter battle RSV in hospital. "Milo was one of the lucky ones who didn't catch RSV. But sometimes no matter how hard you try, it unfortunately just happens and that's the case for poor Hallie. She's had the toughest and most heartbreaking few days in hospital. I can't describe how horrendous it has been to watch her so weak and in so much pain and being unable to take that pain away."

Lisa recently revealed that Hallie is now home and on the mend. "We are so grateful to have Hallie home and well again after a very long and scary 10 days in hospital. Her big brother missed her so much," she said.

The singer also expressed gratitude for the support from fans and the care provided by hospital staff, saying: "We can't thank all of you enough for your kind messages and prayers over the last couple of weeks.

"We are also incredibly grateful to all of the nurses and doctors in The SWAH (South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen) who couldn't have cared for Hallie any better the whole time, they are all amazing and we're so thankful to each of them."

Lisa plans to spend quality time with her family in the coming days. "Lots of quality family time now is what life will consist of for a while," she said.

The update comes after Lisa postponed a concert due to her daughter's illness. "After what has been a truly traumatic and extremely worrying time for my family over the last couple of weeks, and as it stands, still being unsure on when Hallie will be well enough to get home from the hospital, we, unfortunately, will have to reschedule our show in the Ulster Hall on 30th November."

"As disappointed as I am to do this, right now I have to put my baby, her wellbeing, and my family first."
