Extra tickets set to be released for Rory Gallagher's special celebration gigs
Extra tickets are set to be released for all three of the Rory Gallagher celebration gigs starring Joe Bonamassa at the Marquee in Cork next summer and will go on sale this week.
In September, it was announced that Joe Bonamassa and band would be playing a special celebration of the legendary Rory Gallagher at next summer's concert series on two dates, July 1 and 2.
Aiken Promotions later announced that a third date, July 3, had been added due to demand. The extra seated tickets for all three dates go on sale this Wednesday at 9am on Ticketmaster.

Gallagher, who was born in Ballyshannon in Donegal and spent his formative years in Cork, died in June 1995 at the age of 47. His albums have sold more than 30 million copies globally. Last month, Gallagher’s 1961 Fender Stratocaster was sold for £889,400 (€1.06million). The guitar, which Gallagher purchased for £100 in 1963, was purchased by Live Nation Gaiety Ltd with a view to donating it to the National Museum of Ireland.
In a statement, the minister for Culture and Arts, Catherine Martin, said she was “absolutely delighted that Rory’s guitar is coming home to Ireland”.
She added: “The generous donation to the museum will not only allow the famous instrument to be protected for future generations and musicians, but will also attract visitors from far and wide. I look forward to hearing more of the museum’s plans to showcase the famous Strat, which I understand will include Cork, where the legendary musician grew up.”
Earlier this year, Gallagher’s brother Dónal, who was his manager for most of his career, said he believed the time was now right for “other people to cherish Rory’s ‘orphaned’ 1961 Fender Stratocaster”.
