Ibrahima Konate gobsmacked by Liverpool youngster as he challenges him in dressing room
Jayden Danns was challenged by his Liverpool team-mates for braving the elements too brazenly during training.
The 18-year-old sensation was preparing to join the rest of his squad for a recent training session when his choice of attire was questioned. While others were seen sporting gloves, jumpers and snoods, Danns kept things simple with a simple shorts and T-shirt combination as he got back to work after the international break.
France defender Ibrahima Konate could barely believe what he was seeing as the youngster prepared to step outside. But Danns had a logical explanation for his lack of layers as others joined in the incredulous reaction.
Konate, 25, said: "Bro, don't tell me you will train like that." The Parisian even sought to lend the teenager his gloves - but Danns was having none of it. "I overheat! I get too hot in jumpers," came the prospect's response. "I get too hot!"
Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch - who, like Konate, was considerably more wrapped up - joined in the fascination as Danns braved the elements. Konate dubbed the young forward "crazy," having seemingly come to appreciate England's harsh winter conditions since joining from RB Leipzig in 2021.
Danns - son of former Crystal Palace and Bolton midfielder Neil - will be hoping some courageous displays in training will be enough to win over Arne Slot. The striker is attempting to crack into the Reds' first-team plans after dazzling for the club's youth teams.
The local talent bagged 19 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions last term, including five finishes in only three FA Youth Cup appearances. Danns also netted a 27-minute brace against Southampton in the senior FA Cup, helping the side reach the quarter-finals before they were knocked out by Manchester United.
There's every chance the up-and-comer could be called upon over the coming months as resources at Anfield become more stretched. And it's evident he's already making an impression in training - though perhaps not how he might have envisioned.
