Agenzija Sapport and Agenzija Zghazagh sign agreement for training opportunities

An agreement has been signed between Agenzija Sapport and Agenzija Zghazagh, through which more training opportunities will be created for mentors and young people who make useo f Agenzija Sapport's services, the Ministry for Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector stated along with the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth, Research, and Innovation.

This agreement, they said, will cover a period of three years. They continued that Agenzija Zghazagh will deliver initiatives and activities that include supervision, training on leadership abilities, and mentoring to the Youth Workers from Agenzija Sapport. They continued that Agenzija Zghazagh will also be delivering programs aimed at young people, intended for them to improve their quality of life and participate actively in the community. The Ministry and Secretariat stated that this agreement will help the two entities to strengthen the coordination between them and set up initiatives and activities through which young people who benefit from Agenzija Sapport's services will be able to improve their abilities and competences.

Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli spoke about the importance of this collaboration and said that this agreement is an important step to see all young people in society train and develop their full potential. She continued that the commitment between Agenzija Zghazagh and Agenzija Sapport will strengthen the partnership between the social and education sectors, while also helping these young people to be more independent and actively involved in the community.

Parliamentary Secretary Keith Azzopardi Tanti also spoke about the collaboration's importance. He said that it is an important testimony to the "beauty of collaboration between two entities that have a common vision". He said that this vision is that of strengthening and supporting children and young people, and that the collaboration not only shows the commitment of the agencies to their mission, "But also their ability to work together to create initiatives and address the d different needs of young people while looking towards a more inclusive and healthy society."

The CEO of Agenzija Sapport, Oliver Scicluna, emphasised that through this agreement, Agenzija Sapport is continuing to strengthen the collaborations it has with various expert entities in different fields, and is therefore in a position to deliver stronger services and programs with the aim of increasing inclusion in the community. The Agenzija Sapport CEO continued that this agreement will translate into informative sessions for people with disabilities on various topics of interest thanks to the contribution of coordinators trained by Agenzija Zghazagh.

Miriam Teuma, the CEO of Agenzija Zghazagh, spoke about the range of programs and services resulting from this agreement. "Among the programs that will be running is SAFER, which focuses on how young people can navigate safely in the digital world, and Take a Stand, which encourages children and young people to take the reins in their hands and recognize their strength to make strong decisions." She added that initiatives will also be organised that focus on personal and social relationships in life, both in Malta and Gozo.
