Taylor Swift in awkward situation after Patrick Mahomes' mom makes election plea

The pop icon recently wrapped up the United States leg of her 'Eras Tour', capping it off with three massive nights at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Taking to Instagram, the popstar shared a series of snaps expressing gratitude towards her fans and reminding them of their power to influence by voting in the upcoming election.

Swift has never shied away from political discourse, openly endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris and making her stance clear ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election. Yet, this advocacy placed her in a tricky situation given the political dynamics within Mahomes' family, particularly after Randi, Patrick's mum, publicly threw her support behind Donald Trump.

Before the high-stakes game against the Buccaneers, Randi implored her followers to vote for Trump, emphatically donning a red 'Make America Great Again' cap and declaring: "Make America Great Again! Let's do it! Wooooo!"

But it’s not just Randi waving the flag for the former president; Brittany Mahomes also hinted at backing Trump a few months before the election when she posted about his policies. The social media move quickly drew flak, prompting a supportive shout-out from Trump on Truth Social.

Trump lauded Brittany for standing firm and publicising her political views, despite the furor it caused online. "I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country," Trump wrote at the time.

Following the backlash, whispers about a strained relationship between Swift and Brittany circulated on social media, with the pair seen in separate suites at several games.

However, it seems the Mahomes' are making efforts to mend any potential discord. According to a source cited by The US Sun, the Mahomes' are considering naming Swift and Kelce as godparents to their third child.

The insider told the publication that Kelce and Patrick are like "brothers," sharing a tight bond beyond football. "Patrick and Brittany love to spend time with Travis and Taylor," the source revealed. "They see them as the best people to be the godfather and godmother of the next child. The kids adore Travis and call him Uncle Travis."
