Juvenile arrested after Halloween assault as gardai appeal for witnesses - knife recovered from scene
Gardai have provided an update after arresting a young man following a suspected assault in Co Galway on Halloween night.
Shortly before 11pm on Thursday, October 31, members of An Garda Siochana attached to the Salthill-Bóthar na Trá station attended the scene after reports of an altercation at Millars Lane in Rahoon.
The injured party, a male teenager, was transported to University Hospital Galway for treatment but he has since been discharged.

After recovering a knife from the scene of the incident, Gardai arrested a male juvenile and he was detained at a station in Galway under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The youth has since been released without charge and a file is currently being prepared for the Juvenile Liaison Officer (JLO).
Confirming that investigations into the incident remain ongoing, a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told The Irish Mirror: "Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to this incident to contact them. Anyone with information is asked to contact Salthill-Bóthar na Trá Garda Station on 091 514720, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station."
