Two major UK comedians set to bring their comedy tours to Ireland next year

Comedians Ricky Gervais and John Bishop are set to bring their comedy tours to Ireland next year.

Ricky will bring his new Mortality tour to Dublin for a night at the 3Arena in Dublin next March.

Ticket pre-sales start on Wednesday 9 October 2024, 10am local time, with general sales on Friday 11 October at 10am for the show on 26 March.

Mortality follows his recent Netflix stand-up special Armageddon, which won a Golden Globe, and claimed the world record for the highest grossing comedy gig of all time. Mortality will also be filmed for Netflix.

Speaking about the new tour, he said: "We're all gonna die. May as well have a laugh about it. Mortality looks at the absurdities of life. And death. Bring it on."

As Ricky has done with his previous tours, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity - £1.91 million was donated to worldwide animal charities at the end of his Armageddon tour in 2023.

Meanwhile, John Bishop is celebrating 25 years in comedy on his next tour - and all tickets will be €25 or £25.

The Liverpudlian will take to the 3Arena stage as part of his John Bishop:25 tour on Halloween night next year - October 31 2025. He will then head up the M1 to play the SSE Arena in Belfast the following night.

The tour kicks off on 2 October 2025 at the Plymouth Pavilions and then travels to arenas across the UK and Ireland. The tour also includes a return show on 13 October 2025 to the Frog and Bucket in Manchester, 25 years since his comedy career began there.

The £25/€25 tickets go on sale on Friday 11 October 2024 at Ticketmaster here - though it is worth noting that the special 25 price does not include the booking fees. John said: “I can't believe that next year it will be 25 years since I first performed at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester. It's been a rollercoaster!

"And I can't thank the fans enough who have supported me all the way. I wanted to mark the anniversary with a brand-new tour and do something to say thank you – so every ticket throughout the tour will be £25*/€25.

"I really hope you can come and celebrate with me."
