RTE's Sinead Kennedy confirms she would sign back up to do this major Saturday night show

TV star Sinead Kennedy has said she would sign up to host Winning Streak – if the show returned.

The Saturday night game show was the first show to be pulled from RTE’s schedule at the beginning of the pandemic.

Four years later and the show still hasn’t returned to our screens.

But Sinead, who co-hosts the show with Marty Whelan, said she would “love to come back.

The mum-of-two told us: “I’d love to come back. It would get me back up to Dublin on the weekend. Granny and grandad would only love to have the kids on the weekend.

“It was the happiest programme on television, it really was and I know people found it nerve wracking – one week you throw in your scratch card and next thing bang your name has come up.

“It was such a really gorgeous show, genuine people, real money, throwing money at people. It was a happy programme to work on and sure I love Marty.

“I still talk to Marty. We still get on very well and we would be touching base with each other.”

The RTE Today Show host said she still hasn’t heard anything from the bosses about its future.

“Like that, since Winning Streak stopped, the world has changed so much. I’ve had two kids in the meantime and Marty became a grandad for the first time.

“So there are three new humans in the world in our little circle alone.

“I know he’d love it to come back and I would love it to come back. I love working with him, we have great craic.

“I’ve heard nothing. You’re so out of it when you’re on maternity leave.”
