Sabrina Carpenter breaks up with Barry Keoghan just weeks after going public

Sabrina Carpenter is reported to have ended her relationship with Irish actor Barry Keoghan, reportedly due to his party antics.

The 31-year-old Saltburn actor and the 25-year-old Espresso singer first met during Paris Fashion Week in September 2023 at a Givenchy show. Their relationship became the subject of speculation as they were seen together away from the public eye. They later confirmed their romance with an appearance as a couple at the Met Gala in New York. They went public with their dating in February 2024.

Sabrina and Barry appeared to be going strong, with Barry showing up to Sabrina's Coachella set and cheering her on from the crowd. He even made a cameo in her latest music video for Please Please Please.

However, it wasn't meant to be as the pair have decided to call it quits. A recent report suggests the couple had reportedly broken up three weeks ago and Sabrina is now said to be looking forward to her upcoming music tour.

A source claimed to The Sun: "He has always been a party animal and Sabrina was fed up with his antics. She is soaring in the charts and is putting herself first as she gears up for her tour next month."

Last month, Sabrina sparked rumours that she and Barry had broken up after fans spotted clues in her latest music video, which features him. In the video, she seemed to issue a warning with her lyrics.

In response to the speculation, Sabrina was vague but said, “I write songs about exactly how I feel, so I suppose it’s not surprising that people are interested in who or what those songs are about. It’s part of the job.”

However, she later confirmed that she and Barry were still together, revealing that he was a big fan of her new song. “He loved it and is obsessed with the lyrics. I’m so grateful for that. I don’t want to sound biased, but I think he’s one of the best actors of this generation. Seeing him in the video with my song as the soundtrack made it even more special.”

Recently, Barry seemed to hint at his continued relationship with Sabrina Carpenter through a social media post. He showed his support for Sabrina’s countdown to the release of her new album, which she announced on Instagram. “Officially 1 week until short n’ sweet!!!” she wrote, promoting a limited edition bonus track vinyl featuring a special song called “Needless to Say.”

The Mirror UK has approached Barry and Sabrina's representatives for comment.
