Katie Taylor accused of 'holding belts hostage' by English rival

Kate Taylor has been accused of holding her lightweight titles "hostage" by British boxing rival Caroline Dubois.

The Bray Bomber vacated the IBF and WBO titles at 135lbs after beating Chantelle Cameron to become the undisputed super-lightweight champion last November, but still holds the WBA and WBC titles at the lower weight.

Dubois faces Maira Moneo for the WBC interim lightweight belt on August 3, but is frustrated that Taylor still holds the titles at lightweight, with the 2012 Olympic champion set to face Amanda Serrano at 140lbs in November.

The younger sister of Daniel Dubois, who takes on Anthony Joshua at Wembley in September, wants to see Taylor either vacate the belt or fight her next.

"She's holding the belts hostage, so frustrating for someone like me, frustrating for people in my position but we're just going to have to wait and see what happens," Dubois told Sky Sports. "Hopefully she vacates or next fight, God willing, we fight her. It will be a mega fight.

"Everybody wants the big fish and Katie's probably the biggest fish for a long time.

"The winner of this [Moneo] fight is mandatory.

"If [Taylor] isn't going to fight, she has to vacate," Dubois continued. "We're the new faces coming through.

"Me and other girls like me, we are the new faces to take those spots."
