Euro 2025 Play-off Draw LIVE updates and more as Ireland's route to Switzerland is mapped out

Eileen Gleeson will find out who her Irish team will face in the playoffs this afternoon as they hope to make next year's Euro 2025 tournament in Switzerland

The draw at noon Irish time today will set the ties for two rounds of two-legged play-offs, as 28 teams compete for the last seven finals slots.

To make next year's summer finals, Ireland must win two rounds of the two-legged playoffs. The Girls in Green's monumental victory over France in Cork on Tuesday night ensured that the Irish team finished 15th out of 16 teams in the Euro 2025 League A qualifying path. The win was vital as it guaranteed that Ireland would be seeded throughout the entire playoffs.

The draw for both rounds will be made this afternoon, Round 1 will be played between 23 and 29 October, and Round 2 between 27 November and 3 December.

The seven Round 2 winners will join hosts Switzerland and direct qualifiers Denmark, England, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain in the 16 December finals draw in Lausanne.

Hello and welcome to the Euro 2025 play-off draw coverage.

Ireland is in the pot for the draw and will be seeded throughout the tournament as a result of the memorable victory over France on Tuesday.

Ireland's potential opponents for the first round of the play-offs could be Slovenia, Romania, Belarus, Greece, Albania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, and Georgia.

The first round of the playoffs will take place between October 23rd and 29th. Ireland will be away from home in the first leg.

Should Ireland progress from their first-round playoff, they will play one of the unseeded teams in the final.

The team that they play could be the winner of Poland's Round one game, otherwise, it will be a League B team. The League B teams taking part in the playoffs are Portugal, Scotland, Wales, Serbia, Ukraine, Northern Ireland (all seeded), Turkey, Croatia, Hungary, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Slovakia, and Azerbaijan.

The second round of the playoffs will take place between November 27th and December 3rd. Once again, Ireland will be away from home in the first leg should they make it that far.
