Limerick v Cork live score updates from the All-Ireland semi-final clash

Limerick and Cork meet this afternoon in one of the most eagerly anticipated hurling matches in recent times with a sell-out crowd expected in Croke Park.

The two sides met in a Munster Hurling classic earlier this season and it was Cork who came out victors on that occasion with a 3-28 to 3-26 win.

Fast forward two months and Limerick look as dangerous as ever in their drive-for-five and go in today's game as hot favourites having recently dispatched of Clare with ease in the Munster final.

It is a date with Clare that is at stake for the winners of today's game with the Banner edging past Kilkenny after a brilliant fight back on Saturday afternoon.

Today's game takes place at Croke Park with throw-in set for 4 pm and the game is available to watch live on RTE Two and the RTE Player.

The Irish Mirror will also have live score updates of the game right here as we continue our unrivaled coverage of the 2024 GAA Championships.

Cork never bothered putting up 'home of hurling' signs at the county borders. They'd be a bit sniffy about something like that. To them, it was a given. They never felt the need to shout it from the rooftops.

Their record in the modern era, though, means they've had very little to shout about. If they don't win the All-Ireland this summer, they will have gone 19 years without the Liam MacCarthy Cup - comfortably the longest gap in their history.

When Brian Cody became Kilkenny manager in the winter of 1998, the Cats had 25 All-Irelands. They were second on the all-time roll of honour, two behind Cork. But, when Cody walked off into the sunset, Kilkenny had 36, Cork had only pushed their tally up to 30 - and that last win in 2005 seems a long time ago now.

Hello and welcome to live coverage as Limerick take on Cork in today's All-Ireland Hurling semi-final.

The game, which takes place at Croke Park, is expecting an 82,300-capacity crowd in what is expected to be a brilliant occasion.

When the two sides met earlier in the Championship it was Cork who came out on top in a 3-28 to 3-26 victory.

But reigning All-Ireland Champions Limerick looked back to their best in their recent Munster Final win against Clare and the Rebels have a tough task ahead if they are to book an All-Ireland final spot.

The game will throw-in at 4 pm and is available to watch live on RTE Two and the RTE Player. We will have all the score updates live here on the Irish Mirror.
