Leona Maguire teeing it up alongside legendary jockey AP McCoy at Aramco Team Series London

Leona Maguire will tee-off alongside AP McCoy this afternoon at the Aramco Team Series Pro Am event at the Centurion club in London.

The legendary jockey will be joined on the tee box by two-time LPGA Tour winner Maguire at the World famous club on the outskirts of London as he looks to prove he is more than just a one-trick pony.

Maguire and McCoy paired up for the Pro Am event last year in awful weather conditions, and Cavan native Maguire is looking forward to getting some reps in alongside the 20-time champion jockey before the serious stuff starts on Wednesday.

“I played here last year and had a lot of fun,” said Maguire, “There’s obviously a team aspect so that’s a little bit different. It’s quite enjoyable and playing with AP McCoy - he’s quite the legend - so it’ll be a fun couple of days.

“It was quite brutal last year with the wind and rain and all the rest of it. I’m surprised AP agreed to come back to it again. Summer in Europe, you have to be prepared for all four seasons. It’s a nice challenge all the same.”

The format for this week’s LET event is a tad convoluted and certainly not par for the course. The tournament begins on Wednesday and for the first two days, players will play in teams of four.

The makeup of each team will be three professionals and one amateur. Each player plays every shot on the hole with the best two scores per hole counting towards the team's score.

On Friday, the format changes to a traditional individual event. The top 60 players will play on the final day. The player with the lowest cumulative individual score for the three days will be the winner and will walk away with a sizeable chunk of the $1 million prize fund.

Sky Sports Golf and Sky Sports Mix will be showing live coverage of the event from 3.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday, and from 12.30pm on Friday.
