Tommy Meskill 'honoured' as he is announced as RTE's new London Correspondent

Presenter Tommy Meskill has said “it is an honour” to become RTE’s new London correspondent. The Clare man replaces John Kilraine, who had held the position since 2022. Kilraine has returned with RTÉ News & Current Affairs in Dublin.

Meskill joined the national broadcaster in 2016, working on various programmes for television and radio, including news2day, Morning Ireland and This Week.

Most recently, the 29-year-old has worked as part of RTÉ's political unit, reporting from Leinster House and the European Parliament.

On his new role, Meskill said: "I'm delighted to have been appointed as RTÉ's new London correspondent."

"It comes at a busy time, ahead of a General Election which could bring about significant change for the country. It's an honour to have been chosen and I'm very excited to get started," he added.

Meskill will take up the role with immediate effect.
