'Disruptive passenger' arrested at Dublin Airport following on-board incident on incoming flight

A man was arrested at Dublin Airport on Tuesday night following an incident on board an inbound aircraft.

Gardaí arrested the disruptive passenger, aged in his 50s, after the aeroplane he was travelling on landed at the busy hub. Despite thousands arriving in Dublin for the Europa League final on Wednesday, the incident was not related to a passenger travelling to Dublin for the match.

Officers attached to the airport arrested the man under the Air Navigation and Transport Act after arriving at the aircraft. He has since been charged and appeared before Criminal Courts of Justice on Wednesday morning at 10.30am.
