Bruce Springsteen at Nowlan Park Kilkenny: Tickets, stage times, setlist and everything you need to know


Rock 'n' roll icon Bruce Springsteen is in the midst of the Irish leg of his mammoth world tour which will see The Boss play four sold-out concerts across the country.



The Badlands singer kicked off his quartet of Irish shows on Thursday at Belfast's Boucher Road Playing Fields, where he treated 40,000 fans to a three-hour set packed with some of his best-known songs.



The tour now moves on to Kilkenny's UPMC Nowlan Park on Sunday, before Springsteen travels to Cork to play SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Thursday (May 16) ahead of his return to Dublin's Croke Park on Sunday 19 May.

We have all the info you need ahead of Sunday's gig in Kilkenny, including what tracks fans can expect to hear and how you can get your hands on some last-minute tickets.



Tickets

Tickets for Springsteen's show at Nowlan Park sold out within minutes of going on sale back in November, but fans in Kilkenny still have a chance of seeing The Boss perform live.



A handful of re-sale tickets to Sunday's gig are available on Ticketmaster. There are both standing and seated tickets available, with prices ranging from €95 to €168.80.



Ticketmaster is the official and only legitimate ticket seller for this event and the promoters advise only buying tickets from authorised sellers.



Concertgoers are being urged to download their tickets from their Ticketmaster account to their iPhone wallet/ Google Pay wallet in advance of show day. Do not wait until you arrive at the venue as network coverage may not be available.



Screenshots or printouts of digital tickets will not be accepted.



Stage times and support act

Gates to Nowlan Park will open at 5pm on Sunday and ticketholders have been urged to allow themselves plenty of time to get to the venue so as to get in well before the start of the show.



Early queuing will not be permitted in the streets around the venue and ticketholders are being asked to respect the privacy of the residents and businesses in the local community.

There is no opening act for Sunday's show. Bruce Springsteen & E Street Band is the only act set to perform on the night and will take to the stage at 7pm sharp.



Springsteen is expected to play for around three hours, with the show set to end at around 10pm.



Setlist

Springsteen is known for changing up his setlist from gig to gig, making it difficult to predict exactly what songs fans can look forward when The Boss performs in their town.



But those heading to Nowlan Park on Sunday can look forward to Springsteen digging deep into his back catalogue to play some of his best-known hits, with the likes of Dancing in the Dark, Glory Days and Born to Run all expected to get a run-out.

How to get to Nowlan Park

It is strongly advised that concertgoers use public transport to get to Nowlan Park, which is located at O’Loughlin Road in Kilkenny city.



Bus and Rail transport options can all bring you within 10 minutes’ walk of the stadium. Plan your journey online from anywhere in Ireland to UPMC Nowlan Park via the journey planner found on on www.transportforireland.ie.



There will be signage to direct patrons to the appropriate entrance. Follow the coloured route directions as indicated on your ticket.

Those heading to the venue by car are urged to add at least 1.5 hours to their usual car journey time to avoid being late. Certain roads may be closed or restricted to resident access in and around the venue before and after the show.



There is no parking available on the streets surrounding the immediate vicinity of the stadium. A traffic management plan will be in operation by An Garda Síochána. It is also strongly advise that patrons park with a view to ease of leaving the city at the end of the concert - this generally means using car parks on the outer perimeter and walking to the venue.

Pay particular attention to on-street parking signs such as pay & display and do not park in restricted or ‘no parking’ areas as a robust parking enforcement operation will be in place. ‘Clamping’ will be in operation to combat illegal parking.

Banned items

Prohibited articles and items are as follows:



Any article that may be used as a weapon, Any person deemed to be offensive or abusive, or who may compromise public safety, will be reported to Gardai (police), Professional cameras and recording devices (this will apply to cameras that have detachable lenses), Bottles, glass vessels, cans, flasks, frisbees, and related items, Dangerous or hazardous items, Illegal substances, Scooters, skateboards, or other skates, Flag poles and flares, Laser devices, Prams/push chairs, Inflatable and folding chairs, Large suitcases, Laptops, Illegal merchandise items, Umbrellas, Hampers, and cold boxes, Air horns, Alcohol, Food and drinks, Selfie sticks, and Animals (except service dogs and guide dogs).

Concertgoers are being urged not to bring a bag with them unless it is absolutely necessary. People without bags will be fast-tracked.



If you must bring a bag it needs to be less than A4 size. Bags under A4 size will be subject to a search which will result in queueing.



NO bags larger than A4 size will be allowed into the venue, nor will you be allowed to leave them unattended anywhere in or near the venue so please adhere to the above advice.



Weather

While Saturday is set to be a scorcher, Sunday will bring a mix of cloud and sunny spells with showers or longer spells of rain, some heavy with the chance of isolated thunderstorms.



Highest temperatures of 15C to 19C are predicted, but Nowlan Park can get colder as the day goes on so, it advised that concertgoers dress with this in mind.



Another important tip - no one likes unhappy feet at a concert, so make sure to wear comfy footwear to allow for lots of dancing.
